'For this which is corruptible must put on incorruption, and this which is mortal must put on immortality 1Co.15:53 The ultimate futility is death. To cope with this perplexing problem, some conveniently anoint themselves with immortality! However did they acquire the authority and power, and why then can't they stop their own aging process??? Some quite simply invite themselves to heaven to be with God. Still others bank on mystical reincarnations. but face some challenging scientific obstacles. For instance, this would require their ability to spontaneously, telepathically, download their entire genetic blueprint, at the moment of death, and fertilize an egg, in the womb of the mother creature they intend to become reincarnated into, as well as simultaneously "manage" the life transference process. Well now... who am I, a mere mortal to question these amazing powers? Hmmm... and if a man telepathically downloaded his DNA, (to make sure the embryo is really himself again), into "mommy mouse's" womb for example, wouldn't the genetic mix bring him back as.... Mighty Mouse, or Mickey Mouse .... or some kinda Mousekateer...??? I saw some interesting attempts at this in "The Island Of Dr. Monroe" but ... Hmmm.... I think these mysteries are best explained by Mr. Darwin and Dr. Seuss, ... because only The Lost Boys .... can really live forever in Never Never Land.
The truth is, "the wages of sin is death" Ro.6:23, which isn't a promotion, it's a penalty. God told Adam "but as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die". Ge.2:17 When Adam did it anyway God said ".... return to the ground, for dust you are and to dust you will return". Ge.3:19 This was repeated later "for there is an eventuality as respects the sons of mankind and an eventuality as respects the beast, and they have the same eventuality. As the one dies so the other dies, and they all have but one spirit, so that there is no superiority of the man over the beast, for everything is vanity. All are going to one place. They have all come to be from the dust, and they are all returning to the dust". Ec.3:18-20 Additionally, "the living know they will die but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all".Ec.9:5 This is repeated throughout the bible with no exceptions.
Who started the lie of immorality? At this the serpent said to the woman "You positively will not die for God knows that in the very day of your eating from it your eyes are bound to be opened and you are bound to be like God, knowing good and bad". Ge.3:4-5 This was in the Garden of Eden when an angel evidently developed some form of jealously over the new creation and devised a scheme to conceal his real identity, and used ventriloquism to tempt Eve into eating the forbidden fruit. As forewarned, they slowly began to die and were expelled from Eden. To this day other rebel angels invisibly speak to people, mimicking the voices of the dead, deceiving and perpetuating the lie of immortality. Most religions conspire with them one way or another, making financial fortunes.
However, since "through one man sin entered the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because all had sinned" ( Ro.5:12 ), God has a provision to restore justice and give the dead a second chance. "For God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten son that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life". Jo.3:16
Jesus' sacrificial death, exchanged his perfection for Adam's, "ransoming" mankind from the grave. The "little flock", having proven loyal to Christ to the death, are resurrected to heaven, those who never knew him, to the earth. "I saw and look the lamb standing on Mt. Zion, and with him 144,000..... who have been bought from the earth.... and I heard a sound out of heaven....". Rv.14:1-3 They're seen again... "And they came to life and ruled as kings with Christ for a thousand years .... this is the first resurrection" Rv.20:4-6 These were futuristic visions of God's kingdom to come, Jesus specifically said "No man has ascended into heaven".Jo.3:13 Since this is by divine invitation only it is inappropriate to volunteer one's self to become a heavenly king. Mt.20:20
The second resurrection is earthly. "Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who did vile things to a resurrection of judgment". Jo.5:28 "The righteous themselves will posses the earth, and will reside forever upon it". Ps.37:29
Yes Jehovah God has bestowed the undeserved gift of immortality on the "little flock" of 144,000, who qualify to rule as heavenly kings with Christ for a thousand years. They will help deliver the "great crowd" through the Great Tribulation Rv.7:14, and resurrect billions of dead ones, and dispense divine blessings making the earth a Garden of Eden like paradise. The meek themselves will posses the earth and find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace" Ps.37:11
